Staff with the Northwestern Health Unit are reminding the public to take every precaution possible when leaving your home, as there are an additional 19 cases of COVID-19 in the Kenora area.
The Kenora area currently has 101 active cases of COVID-19 listed. The Dryden / Red Lake region has 4, while the District of Rainy River has 2.
These cases bring the NWHU’s catchment area to 405 cases of the virus, including 8 probables, since March, 2020. The region hadn’t hit 300 cases until February 12.
Anyone who is identified as a contact for these cases will be reached directly by public health staff. Anyone who has symptoms, or who has been in contact with a case, should self-isolate, get tested, and remain in isolation until your test results are known.
As a whole, Ontario has reported an additional 1,150 cases of COVID-19 and 47 deaths on Friday morning.
