A 32-year-old man is in custody after a serious assault, where the victim had to be air-lifted to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The OPP say at 7 a.m. on May 1, officers provided assistance to officers with the Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service, who were responding to an assault at a Henry Street residence.

As a result of the investigation, 32-year-old Jerry Fox of Mishkeegogamang First Nation has been arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault. He’s been remanded into custody until his next court date.

Mishkeegogamang First Nation, also known as New Osnaburgh or Osnaburgh House, has a reported population of just under 2,000, and is located just south of Pickle Lake.
