A 27-year-old man is facing charges after a $35,000 arrest at the Sioux Lookout Airport last week.
The Sioux Lookout OPP says an individual was found transporting roughly $28,000 in suspected cocaine and over $7,000 in Canadian currency into the Sioux Lookout community on April 21.
As a result of the investigation, 27-year-old Billy Stoney Junior of Kasabonika Lake First Nation has been charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine,
- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime over $5,000,
- Failure to Comply with Release Order x 3
The accused has been remanded into custody and will appear in Kenora courts on April 29 to answer to these charges. The arrest was made with officers from the Thunder Bay OPP and Sioux Lookout OPP Community Street Crime Unit.
