Staff with the Northwestern Health Unit have released today’s new COVID-19 cases. They include two cases in the Emo area, two in the Sioux Lookout area and one in the Dryden area.
Follow-up with those involved and their contacts has started according to protocols, and anyone who is identified as a contact for these cases will be reached directly by public health staff.
There are currently 50 active cases in the region, and we’ve seen a streak of 52 straight days of new COVID-19 case announcements by the Northwestern Health Unit. Active cases include 31 in the Sioux Lookout region, 12 in the Emo area, 4 in Dryden and 2 in Kenora.
Everyone is asked to assume COVID-19 is spreading in your community, and to immediately self-isolate, get tested and remain in isolation until your test results are known.
