Staff with the Northwestern Health Unit are conducting contact tracing for five new cases of COVID-19 in their catchment area.

They say they’ve received reports of one new positive test result in the Kenora region, and four new positive test results in the Sioux Lookout region. Anyone identified as a contact for these cases will be reached directly by public health staff.

As of March 1, the NWHU has reported 479 total cases of the virus since last March, and 54 of those cases are considered active. They include 15 in the Sioux Lookout region, and 39 in the Kenora region.

Anyone with COVID-19 symptoms, or who has been in contact with a positive case, is asked to self-isolate, get tested, and remain in isolation until your test results are known.
