The Alzheimer Society of Kenora/Rainy River Districts' 19th Annual Ride for Memories fundraiser is once again going virtual.

Due to the pandemic, organizers decided best that the event be online only, but encourages the community to donate to the event in support of those living with dementia and their caregivers.

"We usually raise between 30 and 50 thousand dollars. Last year due to circumstances, we reached 20 thousand, but we're so thankful for the generosity of the donors towards our fundraising initiatives throughout the years. We have found that the need for our programs and services have been impacted by COVID. The need has increased and our services are in demand now more that ever." said Rossana Tomashowski, Executive Director for the society.

"Hopefully next year we'll be wide open. It will be our 20th year and we'll want to make that a huge celebration for sure it will be a big milestone for us," Tomashowski added.
