Angus Milton Sinclair
December 3, 1957 – August 20, 2023

Surrounded by his life partner, family and closest friend, Angus peacefully passed away after a brief but determined battle with cancer at St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg Manitoba on Sunday, August 20, 2023.

Born on December 3, 1957, at the Lake of the Woods District Hospital in Kenora Ontario, he called Kenora home his entire life.  Angus discovered his love of vehicles at a very early age. He enjoyed working on and driving anything with wheels.  Once he had his license he worked with his parents at Mel and Ruth Vans; Pepsi Kenora; and numerous long distance trucking companies. In his home on wheels, he traveled across Canada and most of the United States making numerous friends along the way.

Angus will be lovingly remembered for his love of family and never-ending commitment to them and his friends. He could always be counted on to stay in touch by calls and texts from the road, especially birthday and anniversary messages.   Whenever asked, he willingly shared his ideas and advice.

He is survived by the love of his life Sigrid McLeod; brother Alvin (Karen) Sinclair with sons Eric (Calisha), Stuart and James Sinclair; his sister Kathleen Swain with daughters Nicole Swain and Melody (Pete) Combiadakis; sister Cathy Paredes-Suay with sons Rob Meijer and Darren (Nicki) Meijer and daughter Robyn Gottschalk; and brother-in-law Bill Case with daughter Sheryl (Devin) Kowbuz and son Jeff (Amber-Lee) Case. Great nieces and nephews: Michael Swain; Penelope Combiadakis; Jayda and Avery Meijer; Sierra and Zoey Meijer; Declan, Connor and Roan Kowbuz; Tyven, Kenlyn, Kabri and Reeve Case. Left to cherish his memory are his Aunt Doreen Livingston, and numerous cousins. He will also be remembered by Sigrid’s family: parents Morley and Laura McLeod, brother Ian (Heather) McLeod, nieces Adalee and Lilija McLeod, sister Cheryl (Jason) Diemert, sister Courtenay McLeod and nephew Colby Chartrand.

He was predeceased by his parents, Milton (Mel) and Ruth Sinclair; sister Kathy Case; and brother-in-law Gary Swain.

Very special thanks to the staff of Lake of the Woods District Hospital and St. Boniface Acute Cardiac Care Unit for their compassionate care. Cremation has taken place.

A Celebration of Angus’ life will be held on September 23, 2023 from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. at his family home, 433 Airport Rd. It will be a come and go which will begin with a service and sharing of memories.  All are welcome to share memories if they are comfortable doing so. A private family burial will follow on October 14, 2023.

In lieu of flowers, donations to a children’s charity of choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
