The Northwestern Health Unit says they’ve confirmed 7 positive COVID-19 test results across the region today. They include 5 in the Kenora area, 1 in the Dryden region and 1 in the Sioux Lookout region.

This marks the 9th consecutive day that the NWHU has announced new COVID-19 test results for the region. Overall, staff say there are 23 active cases in the Kenora area and 15 active cases in Sioux Lookout, with today’s case being the only active case in the Dryden region.

The NWHU’s catchment area is closely creeping up to the 500 case mark since March, 2020. We’re currently sitting at 487 confirmed cases of the virus since the pandemic began, with 1 death being reported in the Rainy River region.

Anyone with any COVID-19 symptoms, or who has been in contact with a positive case, is asked to self-isolate, get tested and remain in isolation until your test results are known.
