The Dryden GM Ice Dogs will need to get back on their feet following a loss to the Red Lake Miners. In game three of the SIJHL semi-finals, Dryden struggled to get the puck past Red Lakes Kiev Kineshanko more than once. They fell 4-1. The series is scheduled to resume tonight.

Kenora's brother/sister swimming duo Émilia and Gabe Mastromatteo recently took part in the Swimming Canada Bell Trials in Victoria. It was a week filled with success and challenges for both athletes.

In her first competition in three years Émilia competed in 50,100, and 200m Breaststroke, along with the 50,100,200m Backstroke and the 200m Individual Medley. Moving on to her brother and Olympian Gabe was left just shy of the top podium grabbing a silver in the 100m Breaststroke and bronze in the 50m Breaststroke.

The Toronto Blue Jays continue a four-game series with New York tonight at Yankee Stadium. The Yankees beat Toronto 4-0 last night to even the series at one win apiece. Jose Berrios is set to start for the Blue Jays tonight against Yankees ace Gerrit Cole.

In the NHL, the Winnipeg Jets won’t be facing off against the Kraken tonight, due to the major storm in the area. The game has been postponed, and will be rescheduled for a later date. Elsewhere, the Habs are up against the Blue Jackets and the Flyers take on the Rangers at 6, with the Avalanche facing off against the Kings at 8:30.

Winnipeg got passed by Vancouver last night as they took out the Golden Knights, and the Canucks are now one point up on the Jets in the same amount of games. This leaves the Jets sitting three teams and 7 points back of Dallas for the second wildcard spot in the west, with 8 more games to play. The east is still locked up with Boston and Washington in wildcard spots, 15 and 18 points up on the Islanders.
