The Northwestern Health Unit has reported 5 new cases of COVID-19 across the district.
Two cases are in the Emo Health Hub area, two cases are in the Sioux Lookout Health Hub area and one case is in the Dryden Health Hub area.
There are 52 active cases of COVID-19 across the region.
Follow up with the persons involved and their contacts have started according to protocol. Anyone who is identified as a contact for these cases will be contacted directly.
NWHU recommends that everyone assume COVID-19 is in their community and practise preventive measures like physical distancing, wearing a mask in enclosed public spaces and when physical distancing is a challenge, good hand hygiene, and not touching their face. Anyone who has symptoms, or who has been in contact with a positive case, should self-isolate and get tested.
This marks the 51st straight day that at least one COVID-19 case has been reported by the health unit.
