The Northwestern Health Unit has reported three new cases of COVID-19 across the district.

The three new cases of COVID-19 are in the Sioux Lookout Health Hub area.

There are 72 active cases of COVID-19 across the region.

4,250 new cases of COVID-19 were identified across the province on Sunday.

Follow up with the persons involved and their contacts have started according to protocol. Anyone who is identified as a contact for these cases will be contacted directly.

NWHU recommends that everyone assume COVID-19 is in their community and practise preventive measures like physical distancing, wearing a mask in enclosed public spaces and when physical distancing is a challenge, good hand hygiene, and not touching their face. Anyone who has symptoms, or who has been in contact with a positive case, should self-isolate and get tested.

This marks the 55th straight day that at least one COVID-19 case has been reported by the health unit.
