Staff with the Municipality of Sioux Lookout have reopened their Recreation Centre and the Memorial Arena, with a number of COVID-19 safety precautions and reduced hours.
The Recreation Centre has reopened Monday to Friday between 6 a.m. and 9 p.m., and weekend hours will be 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
The Memorial Arena is open Monday to Sunday 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., extending to 12 a.m. as of October 5.
Face masks are mandatory at all times in both locations, and showers are unavailable until further notice.
Entry to the arena is not permitted through the main doors. You’re asked to use the Northwest Arena entrance off of King Street only. Washrooms are available through a check-in with the front desk, and the lobby has been closed for viewing.
There can be a maximum of 50 participants in a user group, and groups must develop a plan for taking attendance and contact tracing. There can only be one parent per child, with a maximum of 50 spectators in the bleachers.
Entry to dressing rooms will be permitted for 20 minutes before ice time, and no more than 15 minutes after ice time. All users are asked to not run, to not conduct in horseplay, and to not spit in the area.
