A 24-year-old is in custody after he allegedly assaulted a woman inside of a vehicle. The woman sustained life-threatening injuries.
Yesterday afternoon, police received a complaint of a woman in distress near Sioux Narrows. Upon further investigation, police learned that there was a physical altercation inside of a vehicle, between a male and a female.
The female driver of the vehicle sustained life-threatening injuries, and was flown to the Lake of the Woods District Hospital. Police say that the woman is now in stable condition.
As a result of the investigation, 24-year-old Kenora resident Raymond Beacham has been charged with aggravated assault. He is set to appear in bail court today. Members of the Kenora detachment of the OPP, the Kenora Crime Unit and Forensic Identification Officers are continuing to investigate the incident.
