Be ready to bring your own bags to the LCBO.
Starting September 5th the liquor retailer will no longer be offering paper bags.
The LCBO says the phase out is to minimize its impact upon the environment.
Earlier this year it announced it would be phasing out the bags as part of an initiative to divert 2665 tonnes of waste from landfills by removing a total of 135 million paper bags annually from retail and convenience outlets.
This equates to a saving little more than 188 thousand trees per year.
This comes 15 years after plastic bags were removed from the LCBO's bagging options.
While bags are being phased out boxes and 8 pack carriers will remain available for customers to use.
