Municipal staff in Dryden are continuing to respond to the extremely high water levels in the community.

The City of Dryden says the sidewalk from Highway 594 to King Street has been closed, as well as the sidewalk in the Swanson Creek area and the river walkway from the Victoria Street docks to the Duke Street docks, due to the rising water levels.

As well, the city has closed down all boat launch areas and docks in the community. A Flood Warning remains in effect until May 20, issued by the Ministry of Northern Development, Mines, Natural Resources and Forestry.

The City of Dryden is reminding everyone to travel with extreme caution in the area.

Also, the City of Dryden says Duke Street will be closed to traffic between Memorial Avenue and Whitney Avenue today until 4 p.m., as crews work to complete repairs to the wastewater system. Delays on the Duke Street Overpass can be expected.

Public Works apologizes for the inconvenience and would like to thank the public for their cooperation. Anyone with questions or concerns are asked to call the Public Works Office at 807–223-2367.
