The city of Dryden says it could be another day or two before a boil water advisory can be lifted.
It was issued late Thursday because of an electrical failure.
Residents are asked to bring water to a rolling boil before use in drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, and preparing or washing food.
Water filtration devices do not make the water safe to drink.
If you are unable to boil water, bottled water should be used in its place.
*UPDATE*
Officials with the Keewatin Patricia District School Board say all schools it operates in Dryden will remain open to staff and students today.
However drinking fountains have been bagged off and water from an alternate source will be provided.
