Staff with the Dryden Regional Health Centre’s COVID-19 Assessment Centre say they’re currently experiencing an ‘overwhelming’ increase in the volume of calls from individuals wishing to book appointments for COVID-19 swabbing.
The assessment centre is currently working to increase staffing, extend hours of availability and source technical supports to meet the demands of the community.
“We understand the worry and frustration regarding the COVID-19 virus and ask for your understanding and co-operation while we quickly work to enhance the Assessment Centre capacity. Please be patient. Please be kind,” wrote staff, in a social media post.
If you’re worried you have been exposed to COVID-19 or have symptoms of COVID-19, you’re asked to take Ontario’s self assessment tool to ensure you need the test, and to learn what to do next.
Parents and students are also asked to take Ontario’s COVID-19 School Screening Tool, which will inform students whether or not they should attend school that day, based on their symptoms.
