The Dryden Regional Health Centre is starting to look at rescheduling procedures that have been cancelled due to the COVID-19 crisis, on a phase-in basis.

Staff say they understand how difficult it was to postpone non-urgent surgeries and elective procedures in March, bur it was a necessary decision based on direction from the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care.

The DRHC says Northern Ontario hospitals will be coordinating their efforts to reintroduce clinical activities, while keeping a possible surge of COVID-19 patients and the supply of personal protective equipment in mind.

Staff say a confirmed date on when rescheduled surgeries and procedures will begin will be confirmed and finalized by a group of Northern Ontario healthcare peers later this month.
