The Dryden Legion is looking for community support to help them stay operating.

The Legion has been closed since March 20 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Royal Canadian Legion is a not-for-profit, membership-based organization. Funding comes from membership dues, renting out the building, fundraising events, the club room which is open to the public year round, as well as public grants.

According to the Royal Canadian Legion's website, the Legion’s core mission revolves around supporting Veterans, their families and communities. For those who may not know, donations to the Legion Poppy Trust Fund are never used for Legion operations. Through donations to the Legion Poppy Fund, the Legion provides financial assistance and support to Veterans, including Canadian Armed Forces and RCMP, and their families who are in need. The money may also be used to support cadet units.

The Dryden Legion has started a Gofundme with the goal of raising $30,000. So far they have raised just over $4,500.
