Members of the Dryden OPP will be supporting Christmas Cheer this weekend, and will be accepting community donations today between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Officers will be accepting monetary donations in support of Christmas Cheer at their Detachment on Highway 17 East. COVID-19 safety precautions will be in place, and residents are asked to wear a mask.

Christmas Cheer is an annual fundraising campaign in the Dryden community, supported by the Community Support Centre NW. It collects donations each year, and supports 350 families with supports over the holiday season.

This year’s Christmas Cheer campaign will continue despite COVID-19, although it will operate differently this year.

Changes to Christmas Cheer include:

- Only monetary donations will be accepted
- Staff will not accept toy or food donations
- Gift cards will replace food hampers, toys and gifts for children
- Cancellation of Adopt-A-Family sponsored hampers
- Christmas Cheer recipient applications will not be accepted in-person

Donation forms can be emailed to,deposited in the Christmas Cheer drop-box at the Community Support Centre at 53 Arthur Street, or mailed. Cheques should be made payable to Christmas Cheer, and e-transfers may be sent to
