The Dudley-Hewitt Cup gets underway today.

Dryden and the GM Ice Dogs are playing host to the Central Canadian Junior “A” Championships this week, welcoming teams from the Ontario, Northern Ontario and Superior International Junior Hockey Leagues.

Game #1 will get going this afternoon at 2:30pm at the Dog Pound with the Cochrane Chrunch (NOJHL) taking on the Thunder Bay North Stars (SIJHL).

Opening Ceremonies will be this evening at 6:00pm at the Dryden Memorial Arena.

Following will be Game #2 when the Ice Dogs lace up against the Wellington Dukes (OJHL).

Dryden is coming off a victory of their own, as they earned the rights to keep SIJHL Bill Salonen Cup at home for the second consecutive year.

The tournament runs from May 1-5, 2018 and the winner will head to Chilliwack, BC to represent the central seed in the Royal Bank Cup. The Royal Bank Cup is the Canadian National Junior A Championship and is competed for by teams within the Canadian Junior Hockey League only.
