NATO is welcoming its newest member, Finland.

Making the announcement in Brussels, Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg, declared that Finland would be the 31st member of NATOand the agency is eagerly awaiting for Sweden to join soon.

Turkey was the last country to ratify Finland’s application, citing fears that the Nordic country was supporting “terrorists”.

The agency is working to have Sweden join as well, as they are also experiencing setbacks as a result of their application to join NATO.
