A former restaurant was up in flames last night. Firefighters from the Machin Fire Department and the Longbow Lake Volunteer Fire Department battled a blaze at the Stewart Lake Lodge.

The fire reportedly broke out around 9 p.m., and crews were still on scene around 8 a.m. this morning. The OPP is investigating the cause of the fire, as there is extensive damage.

Stewart Lake is the halfway point between Kenora and Vermilion Bay.
