A flood warning has been put into effect for the Dryden District and will remain in place until Friday, May 20.
The Ministry of Northern Development, Mines, Natural Resources and Forestry – Dryden District made the announcement Wednesday morning.
Residents in the Wabigoon, Eagle and Forest Lake watersheds and surrounding areas throughout the district should exercise extreme caution around less traveled roads, bridges, water-crossings, lakes, rivers, and areas of high runoff potential, as water levels in portions of the district are extremely high. Water levels may continue to rise throughout the coming days due to significant precipitation received and forecasted.
The ministry is closely monitoring the weather and developing watershed conditions. Further updates will be issued as appropriate.
