Father's Day weekend is here, which means another couple of days of free family fishing.
Free fishing will be Saturday, June 18 and Sunday, June 19. The province of Ontario offers free fishing four times a year, which means anglers do not require a fishing licence.
While fishing you must:
- follow conservation licence catch limits
- obey size limits and sanctuaries
- follow the fishing regulations
- carry a permit or identification card issued by the provincial or federal government, showing your name and date of birth
A reminder to boaters of the high levels of local waterways and to drive cautiously.
