Glenn Roy Iriam
April 13 1934 – August 15, 2023
Glenn was born to Laura and Frank Iriam on April 13, 1934. Passed away August 15, 2023 at Pinecrest, his home for the past 3 years.
He leaves his loving wife of 65 years, Linda Iriam (nee Robinson), his children Lyle (Deb), Roy (Diane), his grandchildren Cassandra, Christian, Jem Moeller, Steven (Meg), Paul (Kasha) Iriam, great grandchildren Hazen Schneider, Marley and Emilia Iriam, sister Grace Mathews, brother in-law Andy (Bonny) Robinson, nieces and nephews and many extended family and friends to honour his memory.
Glenn was predeceased by his daughter and son-in-law Patricia and Fred Moeller, his parents and many family members.
Glenn was born, raised and educated in Kenora. He was baptised and confirmed at St. Alban’s where he taught Sunday school for many years. One of his most favorite things to do was to fish anywhere with his wife and/or family or friends. It could be summer or winter, hot or very cold! In his early years, he was a member of the agricultural Society. Prior to working for the city, Glenn worked for OCA, Ontario Central Airlines. He loved to tell the story of the pilot taking off with all his tools on the wing! He worked for Kenora Hydro and Kenora Telephone before he retired in 1995. He was a financial secretary for the IBEW. During his work life he and his family owned and operated Locke Bay Camp down the Muriel Lake Road. Glenn was very active in the formation of both the Muriel Lake Fire Dept. and Pellatt United Fire Fighters. Glenn was member of Pequonga Lodge.
We, the family, would like to extend our deep appreciation to Glenn’s long time physician Dr. Vaudry, the supportive housing staff at Benedickson Court and to the staff at Pinecrest Home for the excellent care he received. Also, we would like to thank Cory and staff at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Centre.
At Glenn’s request, there was immediate cremation and there is no formal service. There is a close family gathering and dinner at his son’s home in Keewatin.
If one so chooses, a donation could be made to Pequonga Masonic Lodge, 1500 Pine Portage Road Kenora P9N 2K2 or Pinecrest Home Unit 4 1220 Valley Dr. Kenora P9N 2W7.
Until we meet again.
