The end of the school year is upon us and 2020 Grads are looking to the future.

Treaty 3 Grand Chief Francis Kavanaugh had some words of encouragement and congratulations to share with graduates.

"You graduated at a time of great change in our society. I'm sure it's something you will always remember. The world will never be the same as it was and you are the first graduates to step into this new world. You will go on to face new challenges and build better, more resilient, communities. This is not the end of the world, instead it is the beginning of new opportunities," he said.

Kavanaugh goes on to encourage graduates to chase their dreams.

Grand Council Treaty 3’s Education Committee and support staff would also like to send their congratulations to all the Anishinaabe graduates of Treaty 3 and Canada.

They are inviting all Treaty 3 Graduates, families, friends and educators to help them recognize all the graduates in your family and community, from Kindergarten to high school and college/university by sharing photos, videos and stories use the hashtag #Treaty3Grad2020 or #IndigenousGrad2020 on your favourite social media app.  Don’t forget to include the graduates name, community they’re from and program of graduation.
