Keewatin’s Jeff “Gussy” Gustafson will trade in his rod for a controller and hit the water virtually this fall.
Gustafson will join ten anglers as a part of the Bassmaster Fishing 2022 video game that will allow players to play like their favourite pro angler.
“I’m not really a video game guy but it is kind of neat to get to do that. It’s pretty neat, hopefully, it works out good and people can have some fun playing,”
“The producer of the game asked if I wanted to be included in it and there was nothing really to do other than in the last year and a half I’ve done some voice-overs for the game,”
Gustafson noted that he announced his inclusion in the game earlier in the week and has received a lot of favorable comments from people.
To get the real-life feel and look of each angler the producer of the game took countless pictures of Gussy casting, holding his fishing rod and overall movements. This allows an authentic look to each angler.
Players will have the ability to access a selection of equipment from real-world sponsors for maximum gameplay. In addition to the pick of ten professional anglers, players can create their own angler to challenge the pros.
Anglers along with Gustafson that will be included in the game are Scott Martin, Hank Cherry, Taku Ito, Stetson Blaylock, John Crews, Buddy Gross, Carl Jocumsen, Scott Canterbury, and Skylar Hamilton.
The scheduled release date for the game is this fall in North America and will be available on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One family, and Windows PC.
