Kenora’s Jeff Gustafson is smiling today.

The tournament angler has recovered his fishing gear after it was stolen out of his truck earlier this week. Gustafson was wrapping up a tournament in Kentucky and drove to a friend’s place in Nashville, TN when he saw that gear was missing.

Roughly 20 rod and reel combos, over 10 tackle boxes, line and other items were taken. Gustafson looked for the help of family and friends on Facebook, where his post was shared over 2,000 times.

“I cannot thank everybody enough for sharing my story over the past couple days, it helped! The tight knit fishing community really is amazing!”, he says.

With the work of Kentucky Fish and Game officers and the Burnside Kentucky Police Department, Gustafson’s fishing gear was recovered and a suspect is now in custody.
