The Northwestern Health Unit has released a statement following the record number of cases of COVID-19 announced in the Kenora region on Saturday.
Saturday saw a record 40 cases announced across the district; 38 in the Kenora region.
Dr. Kit Young Hoon, Medical Officier of Health for the NWHU, stressed that we must all continue to follow public health measures to ensure the spread of COVID-19 is limited and noted that the majority of the recent cases "appear to be linked to a small number of social circles who tend to gather together."
Earlier in the day, MPP Greg Rickford, spoke to KenoraOnline about the outbreak in the region, the response to try to contain the virus, and which tier of the COVID-19 Response Framework the region will move into at 12:01 a.m. on Tuesday when the stay at home order ends.
