The Falcon Beach RCMP say they have rescued a hiker on the Mantario Trail in Whiteshell Provincial Park, but it wasn't without incident.

Three officers were dispatched after an SOS beacon was received late Monday afternoon.

They used the GPS co-ordinates from the beacon and travelled to the Caribou Lake area.

Due to the rugged terrain, the officers used ATV's and a boat to get to the injured hiker.

The 59 year old man was checked out and cleared by Emergency Medical Personal, but two of the officers also suffered minor injuries during the rescue.
