The Dryden GM Ice Dogs (16-8-1-0) extended their win streak to ten games as they swept their weekend series with the Fort Frances Lakers (2-16-0-0).
On Friday night the Ice Dogs picked up their eighth road win of the season taking down the Lakers 5-3 for their ninth win in a row.
Dryden GM got goals from Cameron Ware (2), Brady Frattinger, Derek Koivisto, and Tristan Takats.
Jordan Belley was solid in net stopping 26 of 29 shots faced for his eighth win of the season.
The Ice Dogs heavily outshot the Lakers 43-29 in the game.
Saturday night the winning ways continued for the Ice Dogs as they were able to notch their tenth win in a row doubling up the Lakers 6-3.
Dryden GM was led by Maxime Collette who contributed with two goals and an assist to add to his league-leading 40 points.
Jackson Jacques, Tristan Takats, Bryce Benfield, and Dayvan Bull added goals for the Ice Dogs.
Matthew Mason picked up his first win as an Ice Dog stopping 26 of 29 shots faced.
It was another high shot count for the Ice Dogs firing 50 shots on the Lakers goalie.
With the pair of weekend wins Dryden has moved ahead of the Red Lake Miners (14-3-2-0) for second place in the league with 33 points. They are only six points behind the first place Kam River Fighting Walleye (19-3-1-0).
Dryden GM will finish off the first half of the season on Wednesday (December 15, 2021) when they host the Red Lake Miners at 6:30 p.m. at the Dog Pound.
