The Dryden GM Ice Dogs have tied the SIJHL final playoff series 2-2 and are another step close to keeping the Bill Salonen Cup at home.
Landon Pavlisin was named first star of the game as he finished with 45 saves help to his team to a 4-2 win over the North Stars in game four last night in Thunder Bay.
The Dogs were without forward Matthew Pitchenese and defenceman Carson Lux. The players received indefinite suspensions from misconducts in game three on Tuesday.
Thunder Bay’s Avery Siau has also received an indefinite suspension for actions after incurring a Gross Misconduct at the 20-minute mark of the third period on Tuesday. Siau allegedly assaulted Ice Dogs head coach, Kurt Walsten after the final buzzer. Walsten was not seriously injured and the Thunder Bay Police are investigating.
Both Dryden and Thunder Bay were also fined an undisclosed amount for their actions in the contest.
Game five is set for Friday at the Dryden Memorial Arena. Puck drop is 7:30pm.
