Dave Brown of FSET in Kenora is hoping to provide technology, so police officers can spend more time in the community, rather than in the office. Brown would like to see the innovative use of smartphone and servers replace desktop computers, along with consoles in vehicles and the additional cell phone.
"Let's look at mobile devices they can issue to these officers to replace all of that, and what we're finding is that they're going to have money left over for other things. At the same time, they're more efficient," said Brown last week, after making his pitch to cabinet ministers Rod Phillips and Greg Rickford last week in Kenora.
The company hopes to help emergency services such as paramedics, as well as private sector workers, such as realtors. Their technology is already being used by Treaty Three Police Service, and they're talking with the OPP.
