Ontario Premier Doug Ford has announced a partnership with Apple and Rogers, in order to provide internet access to online learning for low-income families.
"We're purchasing iPads at discounted prices for students in need. These iPads will have free wireless data, and will help students from low-income families continue their learning safely at home, during this pandemic," he said.
The province and local school boards are providing lesson plans and curriculum online, during the coronavirus outbreak.
"For the parents, I hope this gives you some peace of mind, knowing your children will have access to the tools they need to continue learning during this difficult period," the premier continued.
While the premier says he isn't going to cancel the school year yet, he also isn't willing to provide a date for a return to class.
