The Kenora AAA Thistles kick off a back-to-back against the Brandon Wheat Kings this weekend at the Kenora Recreation Centre.
Games start at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, before a Sunday matinee at 1:30 p.m.
Brandon sits second in the 12-team league, while Kenora has dropped to 11th.
In the SIJHL last night, the Fort Frances Lakers doubled up the Sioux Lookout Bombers 8-4. It was just the Lakers' seventh win of the season.
The Sioux North Warriors got by the Dryden Eagles in boys' hockey action Thursday night 5-3.
Marek McKay scored the game-winner with a blast from the point against Reed McCready in the third period
Layton Beasant, Logan Rody and Chase Moline replied for the Eagles. Warriors goalie Zac Lance preserved the win.
