The Kam River Fighting Walleye now sit atop the SIJHL standings.

The Walleye won both their games this weekend against the third place Dryden GM Ice Dogs.

Kam River edged the Ice Dogs Saturday with a 3-2 shootout win.

That followed up on a 7-0 shutout over Dryden Friday night.

The Sioux Lookout Bombers  hold down second place after blanking the Kenora Islanders 2-0 on Saturday.

The Thunder Bay North Stars are in 4th after splitting their games over the weekend against the Wisconsin Lumberjacks, losing 5-4 in a shootout Saturday.

The North Stars doubled the Lumberjacks 6-3 on Friday.

The Red Lake Miners remain in 5th place after beating the Fort Frances Lakers twice, 6-3 on Friday and 8-2 on Saturday.


The Kenora U18 AAA Thistles earned their first win of the season.

The Thistles got by the Yellowhead Chiefs on Saturday 5-4.

Cole Bodnar had a hat trick in that game, while Hudson Gagne added a pair in the victory.

The Chiefs came back on Sunday with a 5-2 win.

Reid Pitura and Carter Peters  scored the Kenora goals.

The Thistles are back in action on Wednesday when they travel to Winnipeg to face off against the Bruins.
