The Municipality of Machin has announced that the Vermilion Bay and Eagle River Waste Disposal Sites will be operating with their winter hours until further notice, during the COVID-19 situation.

The Vermilion Bay site will be open on Tuesday afternoons from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., and on Saturday’s between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.

The Eagle River site will be open on Tuesdays between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., and on Saturday afternoon’s between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m.

To help keep staff and the community safe, the dump attendant at each site will be limiting the number of people in the dumps at any time, and will be screening people at the gate. The attendant has the right to refuse service to anyone who has recently travelled outside of Canada.

The municipality adds that they are continuing to monitor the COVID-19 situation and Ontario’s State of Emergency, are thanking local businesses for remaining open through these times, and are reminding the public to follow all social distancing measures.
