NorWossa high school Curling championships for boys and girls was held yesterday at the Kenora Curilng Club. Teams from St Thomas Aquinas, Beaver Brae, Red Lake, and four teams from Fort Frances competed.   Following Round Robin Play the teams lined up for playoffs. In boys' action, an experienced Fort Frances team took the Gold and the Beaver Brae squad took Silver.  In the girls' action Fort Frances teams took both Gold and Silver.

The Saints Boys hockey team hosted the Dryden Eagles this week. T.A came out with a 3-2 Win with Spencer Sundin scoring two and Lucas Dewson adding one.

Both the boys' and girls' hockey teams will now head into the playoffs. The girls travel to Fort Frances to take on the Muskies today.

The Dryden GM Ice Dogs are looking for a sweep in the SIJHL playoffs. They lead 1-0 over the Fort Frances Lakers in a best-of-five series and are back on the ice tonight. They'll play game two on Dogs' home ice, before switching to Fort for game three tomorrow

Blake Wheeler and Connor Hellebuyck led the Winnipeg Jets to a 3-2 shootout win over the Buffalo Sabres. Wheeler scored in regulation before adding the deciding goal in the shootout. Hellebuyck stopped 35 shots as Winnipeg has won seven of its last nine games.

N-H-L scoring leader Connor McDavid became the first player to reach the 100-point plateau in the Edmonton Oilers' 4-3 shootout win over the L-A Kings.

Ryan O'Reilly had a goal and an assist as the St. Louis Blues beat the Vancouver Canucks 4-3.

The Toronto Raptors completed a 4-and-0 homestand with a 125-102 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Canada's men's soccer team ended World Cup qualifying with a 1-0 road loss to Panama. Canada had already cemented a World Cup berth with a 4-0 win over Jamaica in Toronto on Sunday. Despite the loss, Canada will head to the '22 World Cup in Qatar as the top finisher in CONCACAF
