More training camp practices were cancelled today as the CFL players' strike enters its second day with no signs the league and CFL Players' Association will be resuming contract talks. The league's last labour agreement, reached in 2019 and amended last year to allow the league to stage a 14-game season, expired at midnight Saturday.

Canada is playing Slovakia at the world hockey championships in Helsinki. Canada sits atop Group A after opening the tournament with a perfect two-and-oh record following wins over Germany and Italy. Slovakia entered today's game with a record of one-and-one.

And teams get a break tonight ahead of the second round of the NHL Playoffs, after a couple of late games yesterday. 

The Flames are moving on to face the Oilers in a battle of Alberta after beating the Dallas Stars in overtime last night, thanks to Johnny Gaudreau. The first game in that series starts Wednesday at 9:30. 

The Rangers moved past Sidney Crosby and the Penguins in overtime last night, and will be gearing up to face the Hurricanes on Wednesday, at 6. 

Tomorrow night, the Florida rivalry continues between the Lightning and Panthers at 6, while the Avalanche look to shake off a week of rust against the Blues at 8:30.
