The Northwestern Health Unit has reported six new cases of COVID-19 across the district.

Two cases are in the Dryden Health Hub and four cases are in the Sioux Lookout Health Hub.

There are currently 30 active cases across the region. There are 18 cases in the Sioux Lookout Health Hub, nine cases in the Dryden Health Hub, two cases in the Kenora Health Hub and one case in the Fort Frances Health Hub.

Staff says follow-ups with those involved have started according to protocols, and anyone identified as a potential close contact with the case will be reached directly by public health staff.

Everyone, including those who are vaccinated, is asked to assume COVID-19 is in their community and practice preventative measures like social distancing, wearing a mask in enclosed public spaces, and physical distancing is a challenge, good hand hygiene, and not touching their face.
