The Northwestern Health Unit has reported 6 new cases of COVID-19 across the district.

Two new cases are in each the Kenora and Rainy River Health Hubs and one new case is in each the Sioux Lookout and Emo Health Hubs.

There are currently 66 active cases in the region. There are currently 31 active cases in the Kenora area, 16 active cases in the Fort Frances area, 9 active cases in the Sioux Lookout area, 4 active cases in the Rainy River area, 3 active cases in the Emo area, 1 active case in each the Atikokan, Dryden and Red Lake areas.

Follow-ups with those involved and their contacts have started, and anyone identified as a contact for these cases will be reached directly by public health staff.

Anyone with COVID-19 symptoms or who has been in contact with a positive case of the virus is asked to immediately self-isolate, get tested and remain in isolation until your test results are known.

Today marks the 71st straight day of COVID-19 cases being announced in the region.
