Kenora MP Eric Melillo is pleased with the provincial government's decision to move forward with a regional approach to reopening.
"I'm thrilled that Ontario has taken this regional framework, I think it makes a lot of sense. They've clearly laid out the goals, and their intentions with how to move forward in additional phases," he said.
Melillo added he's proud of the region for it's work to keep the number of cases relatively low.
"We have some good numbers here. Of course there are still a couple cases that are being monitored, but out health officials are doing great work in order to follow up on that. I trust that as we reopen here, we all do so safely and responsibly," he said.
The Northwestern Health Unit Region has confirmed 27 cases of COVID-19, with 22 of those cases currently resolved.
