The Dryden Police Services Board has announced a new Chief of Police, who will officially be appointed this week.  

Acting Inspector with the Ontario Provincial Police, Ed Chwastyk has been seconded to the position where he will lead the Dryden Police Service beginning November 27. Chwastyk will act as Chief of Police until February 24, 2022, at which time the DPS will officially transition to the O.P.P.

Chief Chwastyk brings 27-years of varied experience in policing, the majority of it in Northwestern Ontario. He has served in a variety of leadership positions, the most recent being the Detachment Commander for the Ontario Provincial Police in Dryden.
