Parents across Canada can expect a one time increase to their Canada Child Benefit this month.
Families that were entitled to receive the CCB for April and still have an eligible child in their care in this month will automatically get up to $300 extra per child as part of their regular May 2020 payment.
Parents who have shared custody will each get half of the payment increase amount.
The payment date for this month's Canada Child Benefit is May 20.
Parents will also see an annual increase to the Canada Child Benefit beginning in July, The increase will be in place for the 2020-21 benefit year, and will raise the maximum benefit to $6,765 per child under age 6, and $5,708 per child aged 6 through 17.This increase is in addition to the one-time special CCB payment.
