Members of the Kenora Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are currently investigating two motor vehicle collisions (MVC) that took place over the weekend. Both of the collisions resulted in people being taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
The Kenora OPP was dispatched at 12:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 12, 2021, to an MVC on Highway 525. The driver of the vehicle struck a rock-cut, the driver was ejected from the seat and the vehicle proceeded to catch on fire. Ambulance and fire crews were dispatched. The driver was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The second reported Motor Vehicle Collision happened at 9:54 p.m. on Saturday, June 12, 2021. The collision occurred in the 1100 block of Ninth Street North in the City of Kenora and Kenora OPP was dispatched immediately.
OPP was advised that a motorcycle had struck a pick-up truck. Kenora Fire, Kenora Emergency Medical Services, and the OPP all attended the accident scene. The driver was transported to the hospital by ambulance with life-threatening injuries.
