Deanna Pacheco's the student achievement lead for the Keewatin-Patricia District School Board, and she's happy to see nice improvements among students at Sioux Mountain School in Sioux Lookout.

"A lot of times, I think, in schools we just get stuck on doing the same thing. So, it's a good opportunity to go back and say, 'On, let's see what we can do differently. What can we try," she said, after talking with trustees Tuesday.

Elementary results for the school were up across the board, after the last set of provincial testing. In Grade 3, writing marks were up 11 per cent to 32 per cent, but there's still a fair bit of work to be done in Grade 6 math, where only 12 per cent of students made the grade.
