As the regional economy reopens Friday, Queen's Park says families will have access to safe daycare.

"As a father, I know there's nothing more important than the safety of our children," said Premier Doug Ford, during his daily media briefing yesterday.

"Parents returning to work need to know someone they trust will be there to care for their child in a safe and healthy environment," he emphasized.

The reopening comes with some restrictions, so families should check with their provider on details.

"These restrictions will be just like the ones we've seen in the emergency childcare centres open already. There will be limits on the amount of children in the centre at one time. There will be more screening and more cleaning and childcare centres will be able to reopen, once they've met these guidelines," he added.

Families should check with their providers for details on the reopening.

The province announced it was moving to Phase 2 of its three-stage reopening plan in some parts of the province, while some hot spots remained.
