Rainbow Alliance Dryden will be hosting a number of LGBTQ2S+ events virtually throughout June to celebrate Dryden’s fourth annual Pride Month, despite the COVID-19 pandemic.

Events will include decorating homes and businesses, virtual Netflix watch parties, a live story time, a pet photo contest, an online global pride event and access to Thunder Pride’s drag events in lieu of a Dryden show this year.

Rainbow Alliance Dryden members will also be offering Pride Lives Here campaign signs soon, and they will be available for a suggested $5 donation.

The month of June was chosen for LGBTQ2S+ Pride month to commemorate the Stonewall riots, which occurred in June of 1969. Police raided an LGBTQ2S+ bar in New York City, sparking six days of riots and protests. The incident served as the catalyst for the gay rights movement in North America.

The City of Dryden raised their Pride Flag on Sunday to celebrate Pride Month. The event was also hosted virtually by Rainbow Alliance Dryden.
