In honour of International Women's Day, Women's Shelter, Saakaate House is looking to hand out the 2022 Woman of Merit Award.
"The Woman of Merit Award recognizes a woman in the community who demonstrates a commitment and advocacy for the lives of women and children in our community, in our country and internationally," says Saakaate House Executive Director, Kendall Trembath.
If you know a woman who makes a difference in the lives of women and girls in our communities - nominate them! Nominators should include a letter of introduction and answer the following questions:
1. What are the nominee's unique and outstanding achievements?
2. How has the nominee contributed to the well-being of the community?
3. How has the nominee contributed as a role model?
The deadline to get your nomination in is 4:00pm on Monday, February 21 and the winner of the Woman of Merit Award will be announced on International Women's Day, which is March 8!
Dorothy Beach was the winner of the 2021 Woman of Merit award after being chosen for the inaugural award for her dedication to education, the positive impact she has made for the lives of other women and girls and her commitment to the community.
